This amazing full day tour of St. Lucia begins in the north of the island, continues to the west and lastly to the south. Once you reach the Airport / Seaport, a Paradise Seeker representative will be waiting to welcome you as you exit the terminal with a sign bearing your name. You will be transported in a private vehicle to begin your tour.
This tour will begin with a drive through the Capital of St. Lucia, Castries where you will be given a brief discourse on the history of the city and people of St. Lucia. Thereafter, you will be taken to Morne Fortune where it offers impeccable views of not only the city of Castries, but also of the harbor, the airport, and many of the island’s small communities as well as the house of the Governor General offering more insight into the island’s history.
Drive through a native Banana Plantation, learn about the harvest and history process, and sample St. Lucia local bananas that are smaller in size and sweeter in taste to traditional bananas. After Marigot Bay, the road runs through the Roseau Banana fields, and lush hills.
Drive through the small fishing villages of Anse La Raye and Canaries, where you can view and even shop for beautiful crafts using all locally sourced materials.
View the magnificent Pitons, located in the picturesque southwestern of the island, are a respected symbol of St. Lucia and are the most recognizable landmarks in the Caribbean. The beauty of the pitons, listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, is unparalleled and creates a dramatic and romantic backdrop to the island.
Visit Soufriere, the second largest town and swim in the Toraille Waterfall and soak in the exotic mineral water flowing from way from the interior of the island rain forest. The breath-taking waterfall amidst a small botanical garden with various tropical flowers and plants, experience the flora and fauna of the Garden.
Now that we have arrived in Soufriere it’s time to visit the Sulphur Springs- the only drive-in volcano in the Caribbean. Spanning a total of seven acres, this crater certainly produces a unique aroma. The volcano has more than 20 mud pools and Sulphur deposits that produce a unique multicolored visual. You will have the unique opportunity to enjoy a mud bath in the famed black water pool. There are built in areas for shade and for sitting, and the waters are about four feet in depth. The water is believed to have many medicinal properties and is enjoyed by travelers and locals alike. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and it involves smearing mud all over the face and body to exfoliate the skin and draw out impurities to make you look years younger. There are showers onsite for you to rinse off, so feel free to enjoy to your hearts content.
Enjoy a walk through a short nature trail which leads you through the lush green vegetation to a tropical paradise waterfall. The Toraille Waterfall is a popular attraction for visitors. The vegetation flourishes above the surrounding hill sides with various species of birds chirping within the surrounding trees. The crystal water at the Toraille waterfall drops 50ft from the cliffside above into a pool.
For lunch, don’t expect any fast food like KFC or McDonald’s! We will take you in a local restaurant in Soufriere with a beautiful setting next to the Pitons where you will be served a typical St. Lucian lunch – All You Can Eat Buffet.
Enjoy freshly baked bread on your trip back to Castries, while heading back to the north of the island you will enjoy freshly baked bread, hot out of a local stone oven. When your St Lucia day tour is over, we will stop in Castries to visit La Place Carenage where you can visit the duty-free shops. The air-conditioned complex offers ample shopping opportunities, and you will find yourself within walking distance of Pointe Seraphine, which presents more shopping options that are also duty-free. Here, you will find liquor, China, porcelain, leather goods, crafts, local art, and more.
